Panel Technique (Pty) Ltd was founded and registered in 1989 as a complete, autonomous Electrical Low Voltage Assembly (Panel) manufacturer, and today supplies LV assemblies throughout Africa, Europe and Australasia through a local distributor.
From humble beginnings, where the fabrication process was manual profiling and forming of the sheet steel to a modern, fully functional workshop, comprising CNC profiling, cutting and bending, with a unique 7 stage phosphate pre-powder coating treatment plant.
Since 2006, at the time it became mandatory in South Africa for all Low Voltage Electrical Assemblies to comply with the European (IEC) standards, Panel Technique has been at the forefront of compliance, with our 100% locally manufactured range of assemblies achieving full compliance with the Standards, as they are prescribed in South Africa, by submitting sample assemblies for certified testing at the South African Bureau of Standards, National Electrical Test Facility (NETFA).
As a SANS/IEC 61439 accredited supplier, coupled with our 30 years in the industry and over 490years of service from a staff compliment of 51 people, guarantees our promise of highest quality, competency and expertise at all times.

We have also successfully tested to SANS IEC TR61641, testing under conditions of arcing due to internal fault.

PT1000 – IEC/SANS Compliant LV Assembly
Due to varying industry standards and uncertainty in which direction the industry would ultimately follow in South Africa, in 2009 Panel Technique documented a new design as PT1000, and a sample assembly was submitted for testing to the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) National Electrical Test Facility (NETFA). Panel Techniques PT1000 range of Low Voltage Electrical Assembly, is 100% manufactured using local raw materials and labour, and one of the first to achieve full IEC SANS 61439 accreditation.
Although specializing in Low Voltage (<690volts) Motor Control Centre’s our expertise stretches into Industrial and Commercial, floor standing and wall mounting Distribution boards, Power Factor Correction panels, Automatic Mains failure (AMF) panels, PLC control and marshalling Panels, control desks and Local Isolating/Control Panels.
Containerised MCC solutions and Electrical Skids
With our joint venture partner who acts as the mechanical arm of the Company, we have successfully delivered turnkey projects incorporating supply and installation of Containerised MCC solutions, complete Electrical skids, transformers and Ring main units.

SAPPI WOODYARD
New Motor Control Centres
Sappi Limited, a global producer of dissolving wood pulp, speciality and packaging papers, printing and writing papers, and biomaterials, headquartered in South Africa, appointed Panel Technique for the supply of LV assemblies for the recent Woodyard Upgrade project at Sappi Saiccor. Panel Technique successfully delivered within time and budget, all new switchboards for this project. After commissioning, Chipping Line 7 was set to become Africa’s largest chipping line.

From inception, Panel Technique have identified the need for skilled and semi-skilled artisans within our industry and as such have embraced an employment policy aligned with governments Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) criteria and embarked in a SETA approved training program in conjunction with two of the leading training providers in the KZN Region with further ‘in-house’ training, upskilling and promotion within the company and are proud of the fact, that today the majority of our skilled and semi-skilled people, started with us as unskilled labourers.
